Story Telling Competition was held on 19th November for the whole school under the leadership of English Club. The students performed spectacularly, narrating the stories according to the theme.
As a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and A.P.J. Abdul Kalam English Club members contributed their significant part on 15th October 2019.
David Varghese Prem of Class VI G disguised as Percy Jackson was the show stealer of the English club activities. The club arranged a memorable chance for the ardent lovers of Percy Jackson to come and meet him and share their views.
To stimulate creativity and imagination, the members of our club were divided into groups to enact a skit on the topic "When Different Story Characters Meet". The activity was a huge success as the members actively participated.
The English club for the academic year 2019-20 opened the door of experiential learning for the students. The selected club members have recorded a few famous stories of note worthy authors like Sudha Murthy, Arthur Conan Doyle, Ruskin Bond etc. in their own voices. This recordings were copied to a CD, which was donated to a blind school. The CD was handed over to Miss Tiffany Brar, founder of the Jyothir Gamaya Foundation as a token of love and service
An orientation on the topic “Social awareness and personality development” was conducted on 14th November 2019, by Ms. Cicily Thompson, motivational speaker for girls of class 9 and 10.
Girls club conducted a fabric painting class for the girls of classes 5, 6, 7 on 12/11/2019 and 14/11/2019. The class was taken by Ms. Poornima of work experience department.

Girls club also arranged a group discussion, which was organized by the students of class II and 12.
The Social Science and Heritage Club celebrated ‘The national education day’ on November 11th, 2019.
In connection with the celebrations, an on the spot slogan writing competition was conducted for students of classes 9 and 6. The topic for the slogan writing competition was ‘Importance of Education’.
Students were quiet excited as it was something interesting and they came up with many catchy slogans.
The good ones have been selected, and the students were appreciated and encouraged by giving them small gift hampers.
The Social Science Department & the Heritage Club jointly organised a Blood Tests Camp for all, at subsidised rates in connection with ‘Health for All’ on 14th November 2019.
A team of experts from MEDCIS (Pathlabs India Pvt Ltd), had conducted the tests. Many parents and staff turned up and availed the facilities. Many were pleased with this gesture and expressed their gratitude towards the institution.

The Social Science Department & The Heritage Club jointly organised a study trip to The Biodiversity Museum, Vallakkadavu for grade 9 E, F, G and H (CBSE) students on 9th of November, 2019.
The accompanying teachers were Mrs.Divya U M, Mrs. Dhanya S, and Mrs J Meenakshi.
It was a great exposure for the students as they just finished learning about Biodiversity and wildlife which is part of their geography curriculum. They were excited and enthusiastic to learn more. The students came up with many queries and answering them was a bit difficult at times for the in charges of the museum.
They were in high praise of our students and were happy to have them. Our students too benefitted a lot from this trip.

Learning is a process that lasts throughout your lifetime. A human being is always a student and keeps learning from the things around from the moment we are born till we take our last breath.
Well, there is an international day observed for the students and it is called World Students’ Day. To honor and mark the importance of Indias 11th President A.P.J Abdul Kalam, in 2010 the United Nations declared his birthday on 15 October to be celebrated as World Students Day.
Before being fondly remembered as the Peoples President, Kalams legacy will be fragmented without noting his role as a teacher. His contribution as scientist and science administrator in nation’s civilian space program and military missile development efforts were well recognized. With a background in aerospace engineering, Kalam came to be known as the Missile Man of India for his work on Pokhran-II nuclear test.
His endeavors were not just limited to teaching, but his contribution as scientist and science administrator in nation’s civilian space program and military missile development efforts were well recognised.
Our school celebrated the World Students’ Day initiated by the science club and a QUOTE WRITING COMPETITION was conducted on the theme DREAM BIG AND WORK HARD .The competition was open to all the classes from 5 to 12.
It was an immensely benefited and unique opportunity for the science club members on the visit to IIST, Valiamala. The nominated teachers and the selected club members were very careful in following all the instructions provided by the officials at the organisation.
The club members visited and participated at the OPEN DAY EVENTS at IIST VALIAMALA,on 14th September,2019 from 10.30 hrs to 15.00 hrs on its 13th FOUNDATION DAY and on the occasion of celebration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of nation and 100th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Vikram .A . Sarabhai, the father of Indian space programme. Wing Cdr. Rakesh Sharma A C (Retd), Research Cosmonaut and the first Indian to visit space was the Chief guest.
An interactive session was also organised with Wing Cdr.Rakesh Sharma A C. From 10,30 hrs to 11.15 hrs. on the day. For the same five meritorious students were selected from class 11 and 12.
The Open Day Events included short lectures, lab visits, science and engineering experiments and activities like water rocket launching, glider demonstrations, robotics, observatory visits, documentary screening etc.
To explore knowledge and to encourage the students for wider reading ,the science club organised a General Science Quiz programme on 26th AUGUST, 2019 at the school portico. Our Principal Rev. Fr BINO PATTARKALAM CMI inaugurated the session.
The areas for the quiz was planned in such a way that it would develop a sense of inquiry .The quiz was open to all the children from class 5 to 12.
Abhishek .V.R. proved to be a smart and expert QUIZ MASTER controlling the tempo of the quiz and was found to make some alterations even during the session.
Many were found to be very talented and won prizes.
Subject core topics are also considered as the part of club activity so as to provide hands-on experience and thereby build on the scientific skill of the students. Thus in the month of JULY two activities where conducted.
The first activity was to prepare pure COPPER SULPHATE FROM AN IMPURE SAMPLE.
The students of class 11 recorded the method to prepare crystals of copper sulphate pent hydrate and prepared the pure crystals of copper sulphate from the provided impure samples. By performing the experiment each student gains confidence and follows the order and mannerism that is to be maintained while in the laboratory.
The second activity was to show the Tyndall effect.This was intended for the students of class 9E, F, G and H.
Tyndall effect is the effect in which scattering of light is seen by the particles present in colloid or in very fine suspension.
SCIENCE CLUB channelize the energies of students and make use of their skill and talents which satisfy their instincts and urges. It also helps in their overall personality development. The club facilitates the learning of science easier.
The club enunciated its activity on 26 JUNE 2019, The INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING 2020... The students of class XII came up with a presentation on the topic DRUG ABUSE .The topic was introduced by Garzia Jacob of CLASS 12 B and further inspired and motivated by Namritha.A.R. of CLASS 12 B.
The Heritage Club conducted a heritage walk on 14 August 2019; in commemoration of our 72nd Independence Day celebration. We walked from the school to the Kerala Museum at Palayam covering some important heritage sites on the way. The walk ended at Kerala Museum where an on the spot drawing competition was conducted by the museum authorities under the leadership of Mr Chandran Pillai, Executive Director, Department of Archaeology.
It was followed by a talk on, importance of Heritage, and the need to conserve it, delivered by Advocate P Gopakumar, famous numismatic and editor of Vishwavedi magazine.
The children were very happy and looked forward for many more such experiences.
The Social Science Department organised a video show on 6th August, in remembrance of Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day.

The Social Science Department & The Heritage Club jointly organised a field trip and study to The Agriculture College, Vellayani for grade 10 E, 10 F, and 10 G CBSE students, on 27th of JULY, 2019 from 10am to 3 pm.
The accompanying teachers were Mrs.vinita, Mrs.Annie, Mrs prisa, Mr Devdathan, Mr shafeek and Mrs Meenakshi without whose cooperation the smooth conduct of the tour would not have been a success.
The trip started with a brief lecture and video show in the department of agriculture extension. The 15 minutes talk and video show was all about the various departments and their works that are undertaken here in the agriculture campus.
After this the students were taken to the crop museum where they witnessed various types of sample crops. They were really excited and were happy to see the crops that they were studying in their geography lesson.
The students were also taken to the soil museum where they learnt about the various types of soils and their characteristics.
Then the students were taken to an instructional farm, where they were told about the various things that are done on a farm and the various methods used for farming.
The students finally assembled in the mandapam area to have their lunch and then after spending some time there we started on our return journey with many memorable and precious moments in our hearts. The students enjoyed this field visit and were looking forward for some more such trips. We thank our beloved Principal Fr. Bino pattarkalam who helped us to make this field visit a memorable one.
In commemoration of the World Peace Day, a painting competition was organised for the students of classes V,VI,VII,VIII. The students came up with vibrant colours and innovative ideas to represent the theme which was "One idea, one word, one community - peace".
A study tour was organised for the students of class VI,VII,VIII. The students were enlightened and happy to know about the history and heritage of Kerala.
The Health and Hygiene Club of our school conducted a Medical Camp in association with KIMS Hospital, Tvm. A team of expert doctors offered sublime service.
The medicinal club organised an activity on Global Hand washing Day, October 15, Rev. Fr Bino Pattarkalam CMI spoke about the importance of health and hygiene in daily life.
A Study trip to Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, Idukki, a sprawling wildlife reserve with a diverse range of mammals, plants and star tortoise.

As part of the 70th Independence day celebrations, the Nallapadam team conducted a cycle rally from the school campus to Vilappil Gramapanchayat in Peyad, a total of 8kms. There, they cleaned the Ambancode pond and planted saplings.
The most vibrant club of the school, the club with a big heart, the Nallapadam Club flagged off its activities on the Environment Day - 05-06-2017. As part of the celebrations they distributed saplings to students and teachers alike.
Nallapadam club members collected newspaper from the houses of all students to raise money for the poor children residing at Don Bosco Rehabilitation centre, Trivandrum.
The arts club arranged an exquisite exhibition of paintings in the auditorium, which attracted all. It offered an unique platform for the students to showcase their talents. The mega show was inaugurated by Sri Kattoor, famous cartoonist.
Renowned Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan was commemorated by celebrating December 22nd as National Maths day by Mathemagica club. An awareness campaign was conducted by exhibiting charts and video clipping in relation with the history of Ramanuja. We also organised an orientation class for the members by Shafeek Sir, on the topic ‘Origami in Maths’.
Nallapadam club celebrated New year with mentally and physically challenged students at "Theeram", an orphanage in Kottayam. Club members gifted dress and other provisions to them.
Nallapadam club took initiative to create awareness about the importance of using paper carry bags.
The nature camp at Thekkady inspired the students to say good bye to plastics. The students exhibited posters all over the campus to make others understand the dangerous side of plastics.
Nallapadam club organized a nature camp at Thekkady with the help of Kerala Forest Department. A group of 35 students attended the camp and they had a wonderful time on the lap of nature
Seed club members organised a flash mob in Trivandrum museum to create awarness about the dark side of using drugs and alcohol.
On World Environment day Nallapadam students took the oath to plant 5001 saplings this year to make the city and school green. Rev Fr Bino Pattarkalam CMI inaugurated this mega event and 2000 saplings were distributed on this day to students and teachers,
Our school was selected as one of the ten best schools in Trivandrum for conducting charity endeavours for the year 2015-16. The medal and cheque of 5000 was received by coordinators from Malayala Manorama.
The motto and vision of the club is to instill confidence and communication skills to provide excellent preparation for gracing upto todays competitive world.
This is meant to create in our students increased interest in, and love for, the day-to-day scientific achievements of the modern world. This would help to tickle their curiosity to know more about the thrilling and marvelous contributions modern science has offered to humanity. Ultimately, this would help the student to equip himself with the creative mind to eradicate poverty and misery from the face of the earth.
The main objective of this club is to help the pupils to live in harmony with nature. It also helps to create in them, an awareness of the problems related to eco-system. Developing inter-school relations, helping the students to become self-reliant, and equipping them to take apt decisions in a crisis are some of the features of this club.
